I heard the newer generation of ZT 0560 have a steel lock bar insert and other things to improve the lock. I asked amazon they didn't know.

Probably doesn't matter. The lockbar insert *might* reduce some of the initial lock stickiness, but that will resolve itself soon after you start using it anyways. And as for lock face wear, if you do manage to cause enough wear on it such that it develops blade play, then you've still got KAI's excellent warranty to back you up.

If you trust the photos it is Gen 1

The page states that they started selling that model in 2013 which I believe would of been first gen. I doubt they change the photo for different generations but who knows. I hear you know a lot about ZT's. In your opinion is the first gen a lot worse/different than the 3rd gen(I think)?

And this would be why to support our dealers. They actually know what they are talking about.

PS: Kershawguy has that knife for not much more and he can answer your questions about it. Why support a company that won't and can't offer you any sort of customers service just to save a few bucks? I've done several transactions with Kershawguy and the service was excellent. Kershawguy is answering questions for you about another companies offereing when they can't. Says a lot about him and them. As we have discussed the 0560 is a great knife. It is made even better with the support of this community including our forum supporting dealers!

If I am completely honest. I don't like buying knives from the US because a) how expensive the shipping is b) how long it takes with the hassle of customs. Also, with the canadian dollar doing so poorly, buying stuff in the US really isn't worth it overall and it is easily an extra $40 in shipping to get a knife (which has been my experience when buying knives online). Sorry, but I have no doubt he is a great retailer but, makes no sense for me to buy a knife from the US.

EDIT: Kershaw guy doesn't even sell to Canadians stated on his website. Very few of the registered dealers on this site are Canadian if any.

Gideons, just as an aside to you and other people. This is why it is important to fill out the location area in your profile. There would be no way for anyone to know where on the planet you are from. Asking some questions without this info results in a null set of answers. We don't need the street address of all members , but continent and country at the very least helps build understanding for a discussion.

To be fair we have no idea where you are from. Many of us list where we are from to avoid confusion or improper advice. I completely understand not wanting to buy from the states because of the issues you list. Same reasons I don't usually sell out of country. Sad, but it is the reality.
