What would you get? I have a credit I can only use for CS. Looking for a fixed blade and trying to decide what to do. I have 2 Carbon V TMs and 1 in SK5. I only have the master tanto and mag tanto in SM3. I have recon tanto, SRK in CV. Also have a Leatherneck in SK5. Not sure if the SM3 is a good value. If I go with a less expensive option then I will buy a few micro recons for glovebox/gifts.

Honestly if I could use the credit as cash I would get a Swamp Rat rodent 9.

My vote goes to the R1 Military Classic. It's so much classier than the others and it sounds like your bases are already covered as far as big, hard-use knives go.

Recon scout. Looks like a solid knife. I have a military classic and master hunter. Used to have mini pendleton hunter and recon 1. All solid built knives. So mad I lost my mini pendleton couple months ago!!!

Well it looks like the Laredo bowie is winning at the moment, and the Recon scouts are tied. I've not owned a Recon Scout, but I have owned several trail masters and I am quite fond of them (I don't have a lot of use for a 7" blade). I tried a Laredo Bowie once as well. It was nice but I prefer the Trail Master, since the Laredo is more of a fighting knife it seems.

I'm currently looking to start a collection of vintage and vintage styled fighting knives, to The R1 is still on my radar.

I ordered tge Laredo and bought a CV ODA online. I guess I just can't wrap my mind around the extra cost for a V1 laminate blade. I really like mt V1 voyagers though.
