how to use the wrong size knife

cool thread, needs some air! i feel like people get too caught up in the perfect knife size. i know its just an excuse to get more but ....

anyway im gonna try out these techniques this evening! i really want to master being able to use my bolo machete for smaller things on camping trips.

I wish I had thought of that technique a couple of years ago. I was on a moto-camping trip to VA and I had left my hatchet at home. My only knife was a Mini Canadian, and one night I had a pile of wet logs, no kindling, and no fire.:o

Good post. I need a tutorial on how to safely cut the wedge out of your bow drill hearth using a 7" knife :D

Great post. Always good seeing knives put to work. Its always best to bring the right tool to the job but it is just as important to learn how to improvise with what you got:). Thats why its great to practice skills with all sorts of knives, big and small because you never know when you might actually need em if ever.

Great tips for honing our skillls! Thanks a bunch. Also, what's the little knife? Looks like a nice little carver.

Awsome post! I wish there were more hands on with pictures posts! This will come in handy working with the Boy Scouts (Survival merit Badge instructor)
