I'm sure this has been asked before but I've been searching the forums and maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. I've never had to wire a motor before and I will absolutely consult my buddy who is an electrician
before going "hot" but I'd like to see if anyone on here knows what I need to pick up before starting.
My motor is a Marathon electric 1hp tefc farm duty 1725 single phase motor
I know I'm going to want to upgrade eventually, but for now this is what I have.
I'm assuming I can pick up a toggle switch from HD or Grainger, but as there are so many available I don't know what to get.
My motor came with a pigtail and I'm going to initially use it on 110 with step pulleys going to a kmg grinder.
The wiring diagram I have is as follows:
Low volt P1 to Line 1
Blue and T1 to Insulate
Red, P2, and orange to insulate
Black, white, and yellow to line 2
I've wired radios and electronics before, but putting a switch in is new to me and any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
