How useful are stun guns?

CJ - have you worked specifically with the new AirTaser M26 Law Enforcement model? AirTaser's tests rated it with more stopping power than a 9mm but you know how manufacturer's tests can be.

i'm curious if anyone tried out a cattle prod on a person? is it more effective than a average stun gun? what are its parameters compared to stun guns? thanks.

Cattle prods have a very high annoyance factor, but the various models I have experienced (farmboy humor tends to be somewhat limited in scope) have little to no lasting effect- similar to the "snapped with a toothbrush handle" feeling that others have mentioned w/ respect to stun guns.

well, we all know that enough electricity can kill and incapcitate. the technology is there to make a stun gun capable of putting out enough amps to incapacitate so i would guess the reason that those stun guns don't work is because they don't want to get sued to wrongful death.

any stun gun with enough power to actually knock someone out would have a great chance of killing someone with a bad heart or just bad luck.

might as well carry a gun, its effects are more predictable and you won't get laughed at by perps who have been zapping themselves with stun guns and know they don't work.
