How was the Buck Master survival knife?

i was chatting with Joe Houser a while back and he said he did not recall seeing a BM broke at the blade/handle junction
it is possable ... but so far no one here seems to have heard of one..
Joe said that that connection was tested a LOT before they sold them
matter of fact PAUL bos personally did MOST of the testing on this.

Sorry to wake a sleepy thread here, but as the new guy I didn't want to play fast and loose creating new ones.

I just stumbled upon a couple of my old knives, including a 110 and a 184. They're from around the same time, late 80s. My 184 is the bead blasted silver, not black, and it has the patent number stamped on the blade's left side. What it doesn't have, however, is anything stamped into where the tang meets the bridge. Is this normal? I know it's a legit piece, as I purchased it from a national retailer at the time, not some kiosk or shady dealer. I've got the original sheath and compass, both in great condition - as is the knife itself.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks again, ITE.

Back in the day, just being a kid and all, I fancied myself a "collector" not really having an appreciation for the term. To me then, it meant spending my hard-earned McDonald's wages at the knife store (so help me, I can't remember the name of it now). I had that 110, this 184, a MK-somethingorother Navy UDT knife (maybe I still do?), a Ka-Bar (not vintage), a few various "survival" knives, and yes, even a "Rambo III." Because it was huge. And intimidating. And cool. And did I mention it was huge?

So out of all that crapola, the two I saved when liquidating the inventory back in like '91 were this 184 and the 110.

Heck, maybe I was more of a collector than I give myself credit for.

Welcome to BF. Nice Buckmaster, Vendetta. I was lucky enough to get mine for Christmas so I didn't have to save up my McDonald wages.(I did indeed work there in the 80s) That would have taken forever.
