I would like to hear suggestions for the best places to sell ABS knives collection. I know of and have purchased from several online entities such as Arizona, Les Robertson, Blade Gallery, etc. I would like to simplify the process of who to trust and who gets the job done by hearing some feedback on members experiences. I am at this stage into culling the herd, as they say. I'm not seeing many knives of the caliber I have, mostly ABS bowie fighters top makers, old school here selling. Thank you in advance. If any of you want to give any entity a less than stellar appraisal I can be PMed ;))

I’d list them here first and save yourself the 25% fee that you’d pay for AZCK or the like to sell them. You’re already a gold member so that’s out of the way.

You don’t see them pop up for sale too often here but when they are priced right and the quality is there, they usually sell pretty fast.

I know I’ve sure missed out on some nice ones lol.

There's no harm in trying to sell here. Any of those consignment stores would work, but you might as well open up sales on the exchange since you're already on here.

I would agree with the others. Worth a shot here. It won't cost you anything but a little time to take pics and post. If you sell some of them here you do not have to give up the commission %. If they don't sell for what you are looking for; you can always go that route through any of those dealers. I have sold some nice ABS knives here in the past.

After reading this again, it may depend on what caliber of knives you want to sell. ABS J.S. or M.S. knives? Wood handle, simple damascus knives or fancy mosaic damascus with walrus ivory and gold inlay knives? Values in the $500-$2k range or $5k plus?

For the best of the best, you may have some luck here but a purveyor will have much more reach. However, I still say it doesn’t hurt to start here lol.

Pluses and minuses:

A consignment dealer has a LOT of reach, probably more than here in the Exchange. They also will take on the challenge of clear photography.

NOT getting that right can easily be worth a 25% loss, so it's a matter of photo skills and good writing for your selling listing to exceed the 'loss' of their fee.

That and condition and desirability.

I hope this goes well for you. You are going to make someone VERY pleased with your sales and their purchase when it happens.

I agree with trying to sell here first. The second hand market isn't that strong right now but certainly top makers are always in demand. Arizona custom is a good company as is Nordic knives both are honest and have a large following. Good luck and look forward to see what you selling!!
