Maybe I'll just sleep that night.

Considering I'm about 12 hours into a 24 hour shift (after working 90 hours in the 7 days before this) I intend to spend the time asleep

I will cry myself to sleep like a little girl. Or maybe i'll just chill over at Glocktalk for a while.:p

What if the sever goes 2001 space odessy on spark and starts with the..."I think I desirve an answer to that question, Dave" :D

I guess I'll console myself by trying to catch up on neck knife orders I'm a little behind on.
Then again, there's always that other forum. It's a bit slow compared to this one, but at least there is knife talk going on.:D

Hmmmmmmmmmm. . .let's see. . .Downtime on BF. . .means that I can either. . .

. . .talk to my wife. . .

or

Go to the nearest Hooters and watch 19 and 20-year old young ladies frolic around in their tight orange thingy's !

Screw it ! I'll be watchin' orange covered heine as I'm drinkin some Heine ! :D

Yeesh! Now I'll have to walk the dog for hours! Maybe I can visit some of the neighbors! I know, I'll work some overtime! Naw! that's no good, there's computers there! Sleep! That's it! I'll sleep for 24 hours! Yeah, that will get me through the crisis! See you in 24 hours. ZZZZzzzzzzz!

I'm with you, Gig!! You just gave me a GREAT idea!!! :D ;) :D

As I mentioned in an earlier post, my wife will actually be able to use the computer.....
....so I'll have some free time on my hands. ;)

But that extra bottle of vodka does sound like a good idea...Stoli/ice/Jalapeno stuffed olives....Only Jamse Bond says shaken, not stirred...

And who appointed James Bond as a Martini Expert anyway?

Nobody who knows Martinis shakes.

don't ruin good vodka with vermouth.

Unless it's Vya Vermouth. This is vermouth so good that it's almost a shame to ruin it with vodka. But, ruin both I do. And the result is wonderfull.

By the way, Stoli is ok, but have you tried Luksusowa?

Think I'll emerge blinking into the sunlight and attempt to make contact with the rest of the human race. Maybe I'll go into the bush and actually use one of my knives......

With a patch over one eye, and a cutlass between my teeth, I'll go off in search of 'wenches'....Bwahahaha... ;)

RE: the extra bottle of vodka. Got it. Stoli is fine, Absolute is better and Belvedere is great (but different). I'm not crazy about that Vox stuff.

I think a tiny bit of vermouth is critical. I'm ok with Martini & Rossi and find it better than Gallo but seem to have missed something as I've not been exposed to exotic vermouth. Yet. Somehow I feel it coming soon now that I know there is such a thing. I'm also not familiar with Luksusowa.

But on this stirring thing, I just can't go along. I like the vodka areated and ice cold. Preferably the glass is frozen as well. Just coat the inside of the glass with vermouth and pour in the vigourously shaken vodka. Drop in a couple onion stuffed olives and you have the perfect Martini. I know that introducing the onion in th eolives introduces the possibility that this is really a gibson with olives, but I like to live on the edge. If you've really done it right, there are tiny ice crystals in the drink and the olives are sort of flash frozen. Very refreshing, until about the third one, then the serious relaxing sets in.

Perhaps the cold treatment would bruise the high end vermouth, I don't know, but this works for my friends and I.

KBR: Get a clue. For what you'd probably spend on your next knife, you can probably get a computer for your wife and a hub to share your connection. Computers can be had cheaply today. Once you get your wife her own computer, it no longer becomes an issue if you're on yours a lot or heaven forbid have it apart all the time trying to overclock/upgrade/generally hot rod it. Just trust me on this one. The one key issue is that her monitor has to be as big as yours, even if the machine is not quite as fast overall. Again, trust me here.

Hopefully this whole upgrade thing won't take the max Spark stated (72 hours!).

My crew will be doing our best to get you through this. The BF.C Marching Marimba Band under the direction of Musical Director Gollnick himself will be performing the complete organ works of Bach transcribed for marching Marimbas.

Gollnick,

is your interpretation of Bach available on CD? Or is this banned under the Geneva Convention?

What could be more apocalyptic as the trumpets angel of St. Johns Apocalypsis leading and conducting a Marching Marimba Band?

The Marching Band of my artillery regiment was known as "The Lord´s Wrath"

A CD? No.

This is the complete organ works of Bach. It's a 29 CD boxed set which is available in our gift shop just in time for Holiday giving.

We were going to make it into MP3 files and put them on Napster, but Internic asked us not to... something about collapsing of entire internet infrastructure...

It's the internationally-famous, the one-of-a-kind, the band so big that only cyberspace can contain it, the sound so huge that only computer speackers can reproduce it... women swoon and grown men faint while the angels in heaven take cover... Ladies and Gentleman, it's.... it's.... it's the Bladeforums.com Marching Marimba band!

There's a time for everything under the sun. Time to break the mind barrier and venture beyond the end of the cosmos.....where time and space cease to reign.

;)

Time to get out the tapes of "Little House on the Prairie"!

Seriously, I guess I will surf more porn sites than usual, and maybe get out in the shop and actually finish(heaven forbid!) a knife or two.

In response to a request from the Dept. Of Health and Human Services who complained that mental health professionals world-wide had not had enough time to prepare their patients, and because Sam's Club and Costco outlets nationwide ran out of facial tissue yesterday in response to his previous announcement, Spark has moved the scheduled outage to Friday.

This is good because it will give us time to train VG on the difference between the laughing gas and that pepper spray he's been selling. Those of you planning to avail yourselves of his free sedation service will appreciate this extra bit of training.
