how would this be for bushcraft?

I think it'd make a slick edc and slicer, or food/game prep knife, but it looks a little on the small side for 'bush' use. It would just get cramped and uncomfortable to use for long I think. My two cents anyway.

I've seen many, many positive comments on there about the knife and the guys at Blind Horse. Any knife you find comfortable and good for fulfilling the tasks of bushcraft you can call a bushcraft knife IMO, and you could do a lot worse than a Tiger Knapp I think, but I personally would go with the large instead of the small. I keep meaning to get one myself and just never get around to it.

love the avatar when i saw that episode i couldnt stop laughing at him how stupid to play with bees in a survival situation. I wonder how he slept at the holiday inn?

The Tiger Knapp knives fill a very nice EDC, kitchen, small chores knife, as do the patch knives. It is usable for the finer and smaller bushcraft tasks, but I would recommend against going full bore with it. It was not designed for that role.

I met these guys at Blade Show. Class act. They're going to make knives with different grinds soon. I'm not a fan of hollow grinds. Once they do I'll be owning some of their stuff.

benchmadebob, I stumbled across this in the Whistle Testing Write Up thread. There is a section in there about this very knife if you want to read it: http://sgtmikessurvivaltips.blogspot.com/

Andy, in there it says you can get them flat ground instead and is soon to be their standard grind, which I didn't know.

Darn, you beat me to it. :D I came here to post that same link.

I think I'm going to pick up one or two for gifts, put a duct-tape and paracord wrap on the handle, maybe get a Kydex neck sheath made. They seem like handy little blades, and you sure can't beat the price for a handmade knife!

today i went to the local gunshow and met LT wright the owner of BHK the man was a class act

i got me a tiger knapp, full flat grind and a kydex sheath for it
i also handled their new bushcraft blade they have it was very comfortable and seemed to be very well made cant wait to see what they have next time i see them

I have their Bushcraft in the same steel and it is an awesome knife.

The only concern I would have is the slickness of the handle when wet.... otherwise it looks like a hell of a deal. And I have heard good thing about them from a number of people. $20 hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... might just have ta get one. :)

Of course it depends on your definition of "bushcraft" but any knife without a handle is not going to be comfortable enough to use long enough to do much whittling or cutting down saplings.

well said I agree totally.

For the price, its a freakin steal! Go with it man.

That knife seems like a steal at the price. I just yesterday, saw chinese pieces of crap at the local surplus store for over 70 bucks!

I wonder how well that neck sheath holds?
