How'd you end up here?

Like many, I stumbled upon BF while looking for a good, do-it-all fixed blade a few years ago. I registered to post a couple of questions, explored the site a bit, and got sucked right in.

My favorite spots here are the Traditional and Wildreness subforums, but I look into several of the others too. I honestly cannot recall how I got started in the Traditional subforum in particular; I remember asking what a spey blade was for in an early post of mine here. I wanted an alternative to the ubiquitous tactical looking knives and became interested in the beauties shown here.

I'm no expert, but I have learned a tremendous amount about knives and related subjects, my tastes have evolved accordingly, and I have enjoyed the comraderie of like-minded people - especially since I don't know many folks with similar interests outside of the internet.

I have been sorely neglecting the motorcycle forums I like in favor of BF.

man i cant remember how i ended up here at BF. what i do know, is that one day i was clicking on the different forums here, and i was wondering what traditional trappers and slipjoints were. well it just so happened that I opened the "what traditional knife...." and i read the whole thing. the beautiful knives that are present and the great handle materials made me stick around, though i lurked alot. and now it is my main forum, or i say it shares that title with WS&S. i just love the feel of a nice multi bladed knife with great looking one or stag, that doesnt lock. and they slice like no other.

I'm a steel junky, so I spend a fair amount of time in the General and Testing Forums. I'm fascinated by different grades of steel and different knife designs.

But I'm also old enough that when I was growing up, we all had pocket knives and they were slipjoints, because that was pretty much all that was available. So I have always had a fondness for them.

So I come here to look at pretty things and ooo and ahhhh. Cause its fun.
