Howdy Folks!

Mr. Webmaster,
That tower cell #128, is currently occupied by a certain Quasimodo. Sorry. :(
For the time being we will put you in with "Mr. Golden Spike" in cell #13  . If you continue showing signs of knowledge, humor, and good attendance, we'll all try to negotiate with the powers that be here,(?), and get you your own cell. Maybe with a view of the Walkill River. :D

Party on everyone.

Thank you for the straight up answers.........very refreshing to say the least.
Why would Schrade use S/S as a cost saving measure?
Is carbon steel that much more to manufacture?
Won't the change over hurt the sale of OT knives?
Hope things are alright at Schrade..........

The cost of manufacturing in America right now is frightening Everything is expensive, even more so than usual. Our overhead is also up because of increased Petrol prices, increased electric prices, increased this and that and this and that. It's insanity.

There always is a significant cost difference between the two main steels we use. But trust me, we cut back everything else we could before we started swapping steel. That wasn't one of our favorite choices, but it had to be done. We just can't produce knives cheaply enough to actually sell well with our favorite steels right now. Our neighbors, Hydro Aluminum (they adjoin our building, different company) is going through some of the same problems too. American manufacturing is in a very hard place right now.

Basically, things are as alright as they can be here in Ellenville, we're just doing what we have to do to ride the wave yet again so that we can stay in the game.
