I've been "lurking" around this cantina for a couple of years now--enough to feel I've gotten to know a lot of you (and a few who aren't with us anymore, most prominently including Bill). Never quite made the time to register, though, until this mandatory registration went into effect. (And, yes, I'm the reason for the sudden disappearance of a large number of UBBBs from under Nasty's nose.) (No offense--just equipping my large passle o' kids with the wherewithal to reduce mesquite trees to matchwood--and a couple of friends with some of the best steel on the planet, as well.) Found the site via Cliff Stamp's reviews. First sharked a 15" Amtrak siru a couple of years back, and haven't looked back since. Spent the usual hours of frustration trying to figure out how to apply a "convex edge," ultimately learning the use of a belt sander and "Warren strop", and now usually sport large swaths of hairless forearm from testing edges. Swapped unprintable jokes with UB; had fun following links to Valiant Blades, Oldjimbo's site, etc.

Anyway, it's nice to break the surface and say hello to y'all.

Well, I'll be Go To He--. An old voice that should be a friend and skates around the shadows. Welcome.

You picked a right time to arrive officially. There's change in the air, though someday someone will look back and call it all the good old days.

Welcome J.D. I first read your post as 'Return of the JeDi.' :D

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what goes on in here, but I think you still have to sign the waiver.

Cheers,

LOL...nice to meet you!

Always wondered...I can die in peace now.

Step out of the woods, and come up to the fire...

Warm your hands, and dip into the pot of this hobo stew of personalities, experiences and ideas.

Just by showing up, you brought something to throw in it. Welcome.

Welcome aboard, J.D.. Glad to hear that our love of khukuris is being passed on to the next generation.

Welcome! I hope that there weren't too many regulars who didn't say hello! From the sounds of it, you're already at home. Pull up a chair. :)

Welcome return...er JD, er...Mr. Turn.

Hiya. Jump in, grab a chair, spin a yarn, tell a truth, make some friends...these guys are easy to like.

Almost the exact same way I got here!
