How's my forging comming?

ya i have watched that video and it is good. but i would like to use that material not just cut it off. the less cutting and grinding i have to do the more material i save.

Not sure which is cheaper, a couple ounces of steel or the extra fuel, time, and your own personal energy required to forge those shapes.

I don't throw away the chunks of steel that I cut off, I know they'll come in handy for something. working on some scribe/guage ideas at the moment.

I can usually get my point forged in (angled back at least 45 degrees) in about 3-4 heats. I mean what's more important, saving about 10-15 minutes and $1 in fuel or increasing your hammer skill set? :p

You get much faster the more you do it. Not only do you save steel but you can save on the life of your belts and time at the grinder. There are trade off's both ways. I just love the whole process of forging and heat treating with a forge.

I have found that it speeds up my grinding time abunch. especialy in doing the edge bevels. i have gotten the blade all ground and every thing turned out great. the blade is amazingley tought. i have tryed to bend it by bending it over my knee with all my stringt i can muster and it bends a little but goes right back to where it was. and the blade is not that thick. I will post pictures of it latter.

O crap i forgot to logout of bubba_dolls account. o well ;)
