The wood model looked great at the convention! Did you get a chance to finnish her up!:)

Not yet Chris, but I hope to resume work on it in a few days. Finn recommended that I start taking ginseng for more energy and stamina and I have to admit it is working. :D
I have been able to get out and walk some considerable, for me, distances and I have been trying to do that every other day.

And then last night thanks to Federico's thread on carving the khuk handles solved one of the problems I wasn't sure how to fix.
It will or should be a go soon.
I'm as anxious as everyone else.:D

Take your time Yvsa. I still got get the cash together for my M43 and I am going to want one of these too.:)

Barb and me went to the zoo to walk and not only did I make it around in record time today I'm actually not all beat up as I usually am by the time we get back home!!!!:D
I knew once I could get back outside and start getting some exercise without the heat knocking the pure dee sap (Y'all know what I really mean here.;)) outta me that I would start coming out of the doldrums fairly quick.
I'm pretty dayumed tickled that it's not taking as long as I expected!!!!
I really do want to be able to half, or even a third, of the way keep up with my Bro Finn when and if we get to go to Arizona sometime, hopefully, next month or at least in December, the Great Mystery willing of course.
And if I'm this good tomorrow, even 3/4ths as good, I will definitely work on the Bowie model!!!!!!! :D

And I'm not gonna promise to make anymore models before I actually get them made. It has taken way, way to long to get this one made and I'm really sorry for the disapointment in my not getting it done in a reasonable length of time!!!!:(
I still want an H.I.'Hawk as well though and someday I would really Love to have a Tin Chiarra Khukuri based on an old one that John Powell has or had.
I still think that old khuk is one of the lovliest I have ever seen, Bar None!!!!
I hope I still have the pic of it he sent me, but even if I don't I believe that this khuk made enough of an imprint on my old feeble mind that I can do it from memory.;)
That's one khuk that I don't believe I will ever be able to forget!!!!
Absolutely no promises though!!!!;) :p  :D

Great news!! Glad to hear that you are feeling better--I always feel in better spririts once the hot weather leaves also:)

I'm also glade to hear you are doing well Yvsa! Please take your time and it will come out much better...perfect!!!:) I also need to get a few bill paid off and have a few khuks in line first to get paid for!;) So what are the animals to see at the Tulsa zoo!!!

YVSA,
Please take your time, I do not mean to rush you. Just by holding your model I know that this one will speak to me, and you just can't turn down something that good! :)

Bro, I am glad to hear that stuff is working. I take it every day, presumably to get more oxygen to the brain.

Just got the HI Everest Katana from Spectre and like it even more than I thought I would. Thanks, John. He got a big stinkin GRS that needed a new home (it was just hanging around here).

Bro -
Could you possibly post a pic of the model? Regardless of what you think it looks like? After all, you let the guys at the Khonvention play with it :D Besides, then I can either forget it, as another one I can't afford, or join the "GET OFF YOUR BU....er "How's the model comng?" gang and sweat it out with the rest of them :p

Walosi I just scanned the model with a ruler laid along side for scale. It pretty much has its shape except the angle by the handle will be nicely radiused there to keep it as close to Scagel's style as possible.
The guard will go on at an angle as many of his did instead of just straight up and down and the handle itself will be a ways above the blade.
I haven't used a knife made like that, but I have heard great reviews from many who have. The handle offset is supposed to enhance leverage and cutting power.
I guess we will see one day.;) :)

The ruler is placed close to the point to ensure that a fairly decent grasp of the blade length could be had.:)

Bro, with that ginseng you should be able to finish off that model in fifteen minutes -- and who knows what else!!!!!!??????
