My HT oven/kiln craped out on me last nite, so Im lookin for a good suplier of elements and pyrometers to rebuild it. any and all info Please.

Best to check who made your oven and contact them first. Should be some sort of tag on the unit unless this is one Joe Blow made.

Thermolyne made it 2000 series, they want a bit much for the element and pyrometer thought I could find one a bit cheaper. I only use it for my slipjoint stuff.

I got my thermocouple and ssr and PID control from
http://auberins.com/

Kanthol A1 I got from
http://www.ec-securehost.com/PelicanWireCo.Inc./Miscellaneous_Requests.html

I had to coil it myself but, a piece of all thread in my lath made that easy. I used the whole 50" and had to do half the wire then remove from all thread and start again at the other end of the wire.

I also learned something a while back. I tried to go to high and to long with my oven and the wire failed at around 15 minutes at 2250f where it connected to my terminal. When I tried to redo it, It would break when I tried to reform it. (formed fine before being used) I took a small torch and heated it up red hot and it reformed fine then. I had used a ceramic floor tile for an insulator and actually melted the glaze and part of the tile. Live and learn.

Those Kanthal A-1's need to be tempered before bringing them up to full temp.A couple half hour cycles at 1000f for a half an hour with a cool down between. The tempering builds oxides slowly so the wire becomes less brittle.
