This is some .110" Cpm154. Should I not have had discoloration on the entire blade? Foil wrapped. Preheat to 1400 for 15 min, ramp to 1950 and soak for 30, plate quench. If something went wrong then what should I do next?

Looks very normal to me. But if you have reason to doubt then perhaps take several hardness tests along the length.

Thanks Frank. I wasn't sure if the whole blade should be discolored or not. They are soaking in a sub zero bath and then on to tempering.

Is it the lack of oxygen that minimizes the discoloration? The first time I heat treated I only did one knife and the whole thing was discolored. This time i did 7. Maybe I got a better seal on the foil packets.

Normal looking to me. HT oxidation is pretty variable, in my experience, based on how clean the blades are, how tightly the packets are sealed, and even which lot of steel.
