HTing Stainless

Ok. I work with C70.
Now I have this piece of 440C and some ATS34.
Any chance I can get a good job HTing it like normal carbon steel (i.e.: heat to non mag, quench in oil, temper in flame to desired color)?

No. The more complex the steel the more critical and complex the heat treatment. Search for the Hitachi recommended HT for ATS-34 and stick to that.
