HTM Forum Gunhammer Pics

#8.

Manual maxx glide is now among the smoothest knives I own. No work in period needed. No blade play either, centered, and early lockup. I was worried about the green handles but not to worry as they look great. The blade tip when closed is close to the beginning of the scale. My finger has to be pressed moderately hard to barely feel the tip though.

Don't know how slick it will be when my hand gets sweaty? Engravings seems a little off? No real complaints though. Feels great in my hand. Overall I am happy I got in on this. Thanks to Darrel, Neuron, and everyone else who contributed.

IIRC, Darrel mentioned that they did the engraving manually on the forum knife, which would explain the differences from the stock model and the slight variation from one to the next. Also, the "DDR" is on the primary bevel, not the flat, on the standard model as well: http://htmknives.com/proddetail.php?prod=sharkdlc

As far as the "S90" thing, Darrel often refers to CPM-S90V as "S90" for short in conversation. Kinda strange that that little Darrel quirk/colloquialism would make it onto the knife, but you guys all know what it means and what the steel is.

Thank's for the head's up Neuron:thumbup: Pretty cool the markings were engraved manually. Either way I'm dying to get my hands on mine:eek:

*** Bowie Blade Update ***
Word has come to me that DDR has received the replacement steel and will start profiling the blades soon, but due to "working through some internal issues" they are unable at this time to project any kind of completion date. Of course they will have to be sent out for heat treatment and go through final finishing etc, so it sounds like a while for some of us...
Best...
