Hudson Bay axe identification

Hi all, I have a nice older hudson bay style axe head, it has a square touchmark that has "800" on the top and "GDB" on the bottom, stamped rather deep. I've been googling like crazy and can't come up with an identification. Is anyone familiar with this? Thanks.

The 800 stands for the Gram weight of the head. GDB could be a Gransfors bruk mark but I'm not sure. Someone else will have to answer that. It's a european axe for sure with a gram weight mark.

Best regards

Robin

Thanks for the reply, I kind of figured based on my research that the 800 was the gram weight, now just have to figure out who made it, it's a very nice piece in good condition.

Older Gransfors axes can be marked GAB or GBA, but I'm not sure about GDB. I have seen axes from other Swedish manufacturrers (namely Hults Bruk) with the head weight in grams stamped on the head. I would love to see a picture if that's possible, and it could also help others to ID it.

My wifes digital camera died recently, so I have to wait for one of my kids to visit to post a picture, I'm kind of challenged that way.

Hope someone can give you a definitive answer. I have never seen the GDB mark before either and am very curious.
