The guard is forged into the 8" carbon steel blade with a hardness of 58 rockwell and the curley maple handle is dove tailed into the steel bolters and held in place with 5 steel pins. Includes a well made tooled leather sheath. A heavy made knife for hard work. $235.00 includes shipping. www.watsonknives.com

Is that blade really only 8"? It looks bigger than that! What's the o/a length?

It sure would make a good set with that silver wire inlay hunter...
 
What's the steel type and thickness? Looking at this, and at the other pieces displayed on your site, I think I probably have yet another maker on my "must deal with" list. I keep on hoping I'll get tired of knives and be able to devote money to other interests, but it's looking less and less like that will be a reality...
 
The steel in this knife is 1095, the thickness is appx.3/16". Thanks for your kind words on my knives. By the way you can't never have to many knives, ask any knife maker.
