This M43 looks great and I don't have one yet.

It's hard to resist. It almost hurts. I'm sitting on my hands to prevent me from emailing aunty.

Don't ask how I'm typing this right now.

I have the exact same one, same size, little lighter, same kami, even villager fit/finish, all I can say is it's so awesome, I want this one too. You have no idea how painful it is to still see it unsold, and not sending that Ems myself. I believe mine was even 20.00 more.

You are not helping here :D
40oz that's even 7-8oz more than my beasty ASTK. How does it chop?

That dui certainly has some grace to it's shape and the end of the handle is not humped up too far. Looks great! Somebody will get a deal. That M43 is no panty-waste, either.

Jens:

The weight on the M43 makes it a great chopper. I just let the weight do the work, and it was marvelous. Hardly any fatigue, and I liked the larger girth of handle, somehow it just all worked together. I was really impressed. I like it more than my CAK, Bonecutter, and ASTK.

To tell you the truth, it's a really pretty piece, the lines are so clean, mine came sharp as hell, and I used it to chop some wood while out camping, and lets just say, my buddies wanted to use it so much, I hardly got to use it myself....darn heathens.

That Purna Dui Chirra sure is a sexy looking knife! Wonder how that would compare to my Samshir? Horn looks great on it and that handle drop sure looks comfortable. If it dont go away soon i might just have to do something about it? I aint throwin it at trees though Bookie!

Phil, that knife was way to pretty to let slip away!

The HI line is something to behold. Photos do not do the knives justice, as they are much more impressive in hand. The craftsmanship is nothing short of incredible. :D

I bought the same model, and it has great balance and is beautifully made; you won't be disappointed.

some of the best knives coming out of HI right now are the purna and thamar dui chirra

I got a Thamar Chhetri style traditional kukri a couple weeks ago and it is an amazing piece. The spine is very narrow... maybe 5/16. The blade measured from the bolster is 19in, but it has a tremendous drop to it. The blade length is actually close to 26inches if you measure down the back of the spine to the tip. It really is one of my favorite kukris next to the Thamar Dui Chirra. He amazes me everytime, he designs and build his kukris with the end user in mind. They are more workers than show pieces

The Purna Yek and Dui Chirras I own are also stunning pieces. They are a little more heavily built, they are both beasts! I consider them my showpieces even though they could chop down a red wood tree. He has very liquid lines and graceful sweeping curves. He is my second favorite, but sometimes I find admiring is work more than any others.

Greetings All!

I've been looking at all the exceptional knives on this sub-forum for some time now. I noticed that the, "16.5 inch 30 ounce Gopte by Dhan Bahadur Kami. Chiruwa style yello dhar wood handle.", had not been marked as sold so I sent Auntie an e-mail and inquired if it was still available. It was, so I purchased it. This is my first khukuri. Really looking forward to its arrival.
