Huge Income Tax Refund Opportunity for 3/23

Greetings All!

I've been looking at all the exceptional knives on this sub-forum for some time now. I noticed that the, "16.5 inch 30 ounce Gopte by Dhan Bahadur Kami. Chiruwa style yello dhar wood handle.", had not been marked as sold so I sent Auntie an e-mail and inquired if it was still available. It was, so I purchased it. This is my first khukuri. Really looking forward to its arrival.

Congrats that is one hell of a kukri. I'm surprised it lasted so long.

Thanks for your comments on my purchase.

I’ll admit my knowledge of the khukuri is limited to what I’ve read in the stickies for this forum and on a google search. There wasn’t a lot of information on this particular make/model so if anyone can give me info on its cultural history and where it fits in in the correct use of a khukuri, general use or field use, I would appreciate it.

It's one of the rare birds, esp. since the Gopte comes in two flavors. I happen to like yours more. The wood looks exquisite.

I have the impression that "Gopte" is a somewhat generic name, and all have that sun at the shoulder? I saw one offered by another company I won't mention and that was the only common thing noticed.

For anything more, I'll let the more versed guys chime in. Again, ver nice grab and I am too, shocked, it lasted that long. Had I been in US, I woud've grabbed it myself just because of how nice it looks.
