I am betting the farm on the Bowie Builders.
I took a bunch of my very best burl, cut it extra large and had K&G stabilize it.
My goal was to see this wood on some of the big bowies and fighters.

Through this thread I will post photos of the new big blocks as I get them cleaned up and added to our webstore.

These blocks were cut from some exceptional burl I got from one of the redwood guys out at the coast. This was from some of his personal stash. He called me because he needed money. Some of the better redwood burl I have seen. Most are cut extra large.

Now, back to work. Only 7 or 8 more boxes of blocks left to get cleaned up.
 
Mark you really are the most evil man on the forum.

I at least justified my last order by saying I could make 2 knives out of such a long block.... :D
 
These are what we call red heart maple burl.
They were cut from a large maple burl that had started to die in the center. That area turns red, orange and other colors that are darker than normal maple burl.
