I am looking to replace the small thumb-studs on my 2 REKAT Sifu with some very LARGE (higher & thicker) ones for quicker, more positive blade deployment.

Does anyone here know where I might purchase a couple pair of these?

No, I don't, but there HAS to be a "supply house" somewhere that sells these...

Just put it in the mailbox. Found one complete from a new Ryan seven. I have half of the other one, but GD-it I will find the other half it and ship that to you ASAP. And that covers your two knife problem. Anytime I can help out one of you boys, just give me a buzz...wolfmann@aol.com
You should get the first one by Weds.

Hey Dann. Too bad CRKT doesn't have a forum. But, on the SPyderco forum, more than one person has noted that if one removes the studs from the Ryan, that lo and behold a hole, just about the size of the typical Spydie hole remains. You might put in a plea there, or on the general or review forums.

Dave

Dann,
Sorry buddy, but the other half is just plain stuck in the other Ryan seven I have. I took out the studs and love that big hole. But for some reason, one side will not unscrew!!!!!

Happy father's day..YEAH,tell my kids!!!

Man, this is strange. One half of the stud in this Ryan seven looks like its welded in. the two pieces of thumb stud are threaded to lock onto blade, but this one, she no work dat way....wolf

Thanks Dann, wish my kids knew what Father's day meant. by the way, this is just downright bizarre, The two parts of the stud are threaded, right? So if you loosen them and they seperate, they should both just "drop" off the blade and just rescrew together, right? So why does this one Ryan Seven only have one side of the stud that will drop while the other side is not gonna budge? Thanks, Any advice??????wolf

Dann,
Sorry Bud, but the grand ole US Post office mailed them back to me because I should have put 36 cents on it . NOT a 34 cent stamp. So its now Back in the mail with 64 cents on it and I hope Uncle Sam takes the profit and sticks it up his ***. You, Sir, can stick them studs on your knife and by God, I will get these other opne to ya. Now this Ryan seven looks like trash with half a stud. I am gonna ship ya the whole damn knife, you remove the studs and ship the knife back. I will stick a Return shipping sticker, all paid for....wolf

Wolf,

Thanks for the offer to ship the knife so I can attempt a removal of the stud, but I'll "pass" on that offer, as you might not even want the knife back after I had finished with it...(Sledge-hammer, chainsaw, car battery...I think you get the idea...LOL!!).

I swear, I'm starting to understand why some folks "go Postal"! (See my thread here at BF on "The Good, The bad, & The Ugly" forum!).

Thank-You for the 1 set of thumb-studs. Maybe the thumb-stud that you are having problems removing was glued on with LockTight Red. Try heating it up with a hair dryer.

Wolf,

The envelope that you mailed the thumb-studs to me in arrived with 2 inches of a corner torn-off, and EMPTY!!! I guess the Post Office gorillas weren't very gentle with this one...

So...ANYONE? I'm STILL looking for a place to purchase a couple sets of large, "over-sized" dual thumb-studs to put on my REKAT Sifus.
