Hultafors ! Holy Smokes......!

Good eye. Thats an Alan Blade. No longer being made IIRC.

Yep! Good eye. Got it from David Farmer in a trade.

Thanks!

My Hultafor arrived about 30 minutes ago, WHAT A BEAST! they are not kidding when they say "heavy duty"!

As thick as the blade is, it will shave arm hair and slice paper cleanly.

Jury is still out on the sheath, if you turn it upside down, the knife will fall out with 1 good shake, not a huge problem, but I never like that in a sheath. I doubt it would lose the knife under normal use, but taking a fall, I could see it jumping out.

Did yours come with a secondary bevel?

Mine came with a thick secondary bevel as well, but I have pretty much gotten rid of it. It worked okay with it, but I think it works better without it.

Any idea how long the tang is?
I emailed the company,no response yet.

I just got mine in. Seems like a fairly substantial piece for the money.

Here's some pic's of mine.

With Mora 740, the Hultafors GK will probably get the same warm vinegar blade treatment soon. Really helps control rust!

Blade comparison with Mora 740, the Hultafors really has a heavy blade!

I ordered mine from the Good Stuff Shop and had no problems with the ordering or the shipping. I wish there was an American distributor (maybe Ragnar will sell them one day) but in the absence of one, 7-10 days is not too bad for getting a knife from Denmark to the US and the price is definitely right. You can certainly get a lot less knife for a lot more money.

Yup!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a note, if you pay with PayPal, don't jump and pay the amount in the first email you will get after ordering, wait for the second one which will have the VAT for Europeans removed.

Thank you both for the insight. I'll be heading there tonight, and I just know I need at least two. The Craftsman HVK, and GK. Then more than likely off to Eric @ OST.

Thanks again,

As much as I like the HVK, GK and RFR (the blue handled stainless knife) the knife that I have used the most is the electricians knife. It came ridiculously sharp and I have used it almost daily to open up packages, cut tape and do the rest of the chores I have had around the holidays. I think I may also end up taking it duck hunting with me and use it when I have to cut through the feathers and skin to breast out the ducks. I have been using my HVK but the shorter blade and more compact size may make it easier to control. I am getting some sheaths from Eric as well and can't wait until they come in. As soon as that happens, either the HVK or GK will be on my belt almost everytime (have to give my Mora 2000 some love as well) I am in the outdoors.

Fiddleback, is that a Bravo-1 with the thumb rest ground off?

Yes. I ground it off last week. First time I've modded a BRKT, and I was holding my breath the whole time...:D

Thanks!

Had to join so I can keep track of my good customers....
kniv-per

The sheath are just a storrage for the knife - here in scandinavia it's mostly handymen that uses the knife ..
I thing Hultafors made this sheath to keep cost down - and to benefit their dealers .. if you drop it .. you have to buy a new one ....:D:D:

Nice to be amongs other knifefreaks....
