Hummers are for pu**ys!

If the German Army vehicle is a Dingo, is the Australian equivalent a Dachshund? :)

:D

Every German Army vehicle traditionally bears the name of a carnivore, such as the Leopard 2 MBT or the Wolf, which is the military version of the Mercedes G-Class.

This guy wanted a hummer but didn't have the $$$ so he fabbed it up from scratch.

This one was being driven by someone I know. I didn't receive a whole lot of info, but I don't think the guy sitting in the Hummer was in it when it hit the IED.

A friend of mine who is in Iraq now just lost a couple guys (he's an MD but when he was called up they made him a medic again) who were in a tank hit by an IED. I just assumed he ment Abrahams but I'll have to write back and ask him. I kinda get the feeling if they want you dead there gonna find a way to do it no matter what you're driving. His friends and I had to chip in to get him a side arm and body armour as the government ran out and was sending him out in an antiquated flack vest thing and with a rifle (combat medics are still, as far as I know, suposed to be issued a sidearm.)

. . .
Also, will someone please tell me which war the United States has ever gone into prepared.

MAYBE the First Gulf War -- and that exhausts the possibilities.

We had at least two years to get ready for WW II, and when it started for us, we had no first-line land-based or naval fighter, torpedo bomber, or dive bomber. No first-line tank until late 1944. WW I equpment -- or older - to defend the Philippines when it "hit the fan" and to equip the Marines who launched our first offensive ten months AFTER it "hit the fan." Torpedoes for our subs for the first year of the war that often went "doink!" when they hit their targets, not "boom!!!"

If I remember right the Hummer was designed as basically a chase vehicle for the M1.
It was designed as a replacement for the "jeep."

In this case, we declared in 19-friggin-97 that is was the policy of the U.S. to change the regime in Iraq, a country with which we remained in a state of undeclared war since 1991, by any means necessary.

History will not award any prizes for the management of this undeclared war or for those responsible since 1997 for effectuating national policy.

There is a point in Thomas' comments. The US was the 1st to come up with the Sub and the airplane yet in WWI & WWII had to rely on others for technology. WWI it entered with a handfull of aircraft and only a couple that were only obsolecent and not obsolete.

The Sherman was nicknamed the Ronson, it used to light up 1st time.
