Humor me , please .

The 110 and the Schrades were the knife to carry, the old LB series were the knives to carry. They were comparable to the old Bucks and were often mistaken for the 110's.

This style of large folding sheath knife became generically known as a Buck knife, muchlike all copy machines became known as XEROX machines in the late 80's.

Whichever knife you had a Schrade or a Buck, you carried a dependable and trustworthy friend on your side that wouldn't let you down no matter what your situation.

Thanks Don Luis, that was a great suggestion "I believe that´s the 560 (and its modified version so-called Buckbenza), check this thread:" which showed a titanium handled 560 with upgraded BG42 blade. I found one like that at knifeforums for a real good price. I've got my check in the mail.

I agree with some of the faults that you listed. But the 110 has two key advantages.

The first is price. There are people who are very sensitive to how much the knife costs - much more so than most of us. It makes a big difference whether the knife is $30 versus $45 or $60 or $100.

The second is availability. Guys can walk into most any major store that has hardware and find a Buck 110. Even knives that are common to us, such as Spyderco and Benchmade, are not easy to find in retail stores.

This knife is going to be with us for a long time to come.

I like the size, it gives me something to hang on to. I like the way brass and wood looks. The blade shape works for what I use a knife for. But I also drive a car from 1965, so I may just be a throwback;)

I do not have big history of using Buck 110 - I like it from the time I bought it few years ago. I like it mainly because solid fill I experience when I hold it in my palm - heavy and comfortable. I order Buck 110 custom with BG-42 blade treated under Bos control, it is one of the best cutter I have.
Friend of mine gave me this link - I think the knife used to kill coguar was Buck 110 (or some clone):
