Hi guys!

This thread should show my appreciation to the great guys here in Traditional Forum. I´m almost a member here for some years and I really like the friendship and comradrie here in this part of the forum. You guys are just great - propably the best people I´ve ever met!! If it comes to shared knowledge, friendship and selflessness - thanks to you all.

I went to the woods this afternoon and celebrate the last day of 2013 in my own way. It was not the best year for me and my family. We had some great moments but also some devastating. So I went there to take a little resumee. I live in the valley and the hills are right behind me and the Alps directly in front of me between a big river. So I went to the hills this day. It was darn foggy here and freezing cold. But up in the hills it´s always better and the sun is shining.

Here are some pics

The way up the hills - cold and foggy

the knives I´ve had with me...

after about an hour of walking the best weather up there, sun and sun again :D

Brukskniv is having fun up there... ;)

.. as well as the Otter Ankermesser

what a beauty

and when the evening comes, the fog even reconquers the hills

a sideway back home... away from people and pretty silent

... LOL!! Yeah and some bavarian wildlife - I like the goats up there that belong to a farmer :D

I wish you and your families just the very best for 2014! Let this crowd stay as it is. Cheers my friends, fellows, pals & buddies!

Greetings to you as well my friend! Thanks for the nice photos on your walk Andi, and may 2014 be a good year for you and your family

Some great pics there Andi. I know that ScrufUK was also out clearing the cobwebs away today, and I envy you both :) Certainly a fantastic group of regulars here, I know of none finer. I've had a mixed year myself, and I don't know if 2014 will be any better to be honest. Wishing everyone and their families all the very best for a Happy New Year, particularly those like Andi and Pete, with new family members due to arrive ;)

I'd also like to thank our regular mods, Gary and Frank (and that Blue feller who pops his head up now and again ;) ) for the work they do keeping it nice here.

All the best

Jack

Looks like a wonderful place for a hike Andi. Some of my ancestors are from Bavaria, I am eager to visit some day.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, the traditional forum is a great place with many wonderful people from all over the world. I hope everyone as a wonderful New Year!

Great photography, and I'm glad that you can have a day to reflect. Best to you and yours in 2014.

I too have had a really bad year. I really enjoy your posts Andi and it is my hope that you have a better 2014. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

You live in a beautiful place Andi. Hope your 2014 is a good one, but alas if it were not for the lows, we would not appreciate highs as much.

Stan

Great Shots Andi! It looks to be a perfect place to talk a walk and take it all in!
Its great having you here too mate - I hope your new year is nothing but Great for you and your family!

Happy new Year everyone!

Andi,
thank you for the thread, the pictures, and the way you contribute to this forum. Someday I will cross the Alps and we'll take that walk together (and double the knives count in the pictures :p). And I still believe that the Euro BF gathering might become real soon.
Meanwhile, to you and to all the people sitting on our porch, I wish you a great 2014, full of good things, unexpected joys, and sharp traditional knives of course ;)

Fine wanderings Andi. The mist gives atmosphere, I like the Goat shot, do they make cheeses locally from the milk?

At least your weather is tolerable. Here it is always thick snow and anything from -3c to -28c at this time of year. But not THIS year, it snowed once for a couple of days but since then plus temps all the time, night too. Not so bad but the endless rain is turning everything into a quagmire of mud, the fields look like a battlefield in the 1914-18 war! Trying walking in that....I have never seen this before, nor has anybody else and it's quite frightening when nature rebels. Did I mention the endless wind too....

Let's look forward to new things and new hopes, hope is the sustaining force. All the best for 14.

Thanks for the VM pic Andi, really nice colour.

Regards, Will

We love you too Andi !
Always puts a smile on my face to see your snuff and knife combos.
I hope everyone has a great new year!

Thank you for sharing the pictures, and reminding me to take the time to reflect and be thankful. Here's to a great 2014 for us all!

Great photos Andi, wishing you and your family and every one of this great forum members and their family a Happy and Blessed New Year .

Mike

There is really nothing quite like getting out in the forest, to clear your head. I've always loved the peace and solitude of a nice bit of forest. Have a great new year Andi, and the rest of my on line blade brothers as well!!!

Carl.

Sorry it's been a tough year for you, Andi. Try to enjoy all the good moments, and here's to hoping '14 will treat us well.

Enjoyed the pictures and I share your sentiment, Andi. Great people here. Best wishes for 2014 to you and all the folks who make this place what it is... Happy New Year!

Lovely pics, thanks for sharing them!

My horrible year was 2012. 2013 was noteworthy only for its lack of further disasters. Hoping 2014 will be better for you!
