Hunter and parer in CPM 4V! (both sold)

This weekend I have a couple knives in CPM 4V for your consideration. This has got to be one of my favorite steels. It is a very very tough steel that has about the same edge retention as CPM M4, but is quite a bit tougher. Many of the competition chopping knives that win are now being made in 4V. It isn't stainless, but it won't patina as fast as traditional carbon steels. The heat treatment was done in shop with a "cryo" quench prior to tempering. The hardness on both knives is ~64HRC, which I think is a sweet spot for these particle tool steels. The stock is nice and thin for excellent cutting, 0.080" with tapering to the tip, and both have full flat grinds that terminate in a thin cutting edge. The "furniture" is black canvas micarta, which offers really good grip purchase. I love that tacky feel. While the Verde Ranch Hunter was designed with a focus on game processing, it can also serve quite well as a general camp knife, or kitchen utility. And while the paring knife was made for the kitchen, it can also serve as a very handy EDC knife. I like the relatively straight edge with just a hint of belly. The handle is also designed to be placed on the counter edge up.
