Loosely based on the AG Russell "Sandbox Bowie", this model is a little smaller at 9"OAL. The blade steel is Crucible's awesome Cru Forge V, while the handle is traditional walnut with black and white G10 liners. The clip, or "swedge", has been apexed and sharpened, and the guards have been chamfered for a smooth feel. Balance point is between the front pin and the guards. As many of you know, Crucible no longer makes Cru Forge V, which is a shame. It is an excellent oil hardening, vanadium alloyed carbon steel with good wear resistance. The heat treatment of this blade consisted of 3 thermal cycles for austenite grain refinement, and quenched in Parks 50 fast oil, triple tempered to 62-63HRC. It has not been sharpened yet. I will be happy to put whatever edge angle/grit level the buyer requests. Knife will come with a custom made kydex sheath.
