I'm a woodworker from Crawford County, Pennsylvania, and I used apple, peach, cherry, and antler (all grown within 30 miles of my house and all stabilized) to make up this 4 1/2 inch handle. The finish consist of CA finish and five or more oil and wax treatments to prepare the handle for outdoor abuse.
This skinning style trapper blade was hand forged by Andy Alm, a blacksmith from Crawford County, PA. It was heat treated by Peter's Heat Treating Inc. and etched by Pheonix Laser Solutions, also both in Crawford County. It was hand ground by Andy to hair splitting sharpness.
Length - 4.5 inches
Thickness - 3/32 inch
Material - CPM S90V
Hardness - 59-61 Rockwell C
Finish - laser etched / Scotchbright buffed
The sheath is made from medium brown, harness leather and was customized for this knife by Mel Gingerich of Gingerich Harness Shop (an Amish harness maker), who also lives in Crawford County, PA. His stamp shows each piece of art came from his shop and consists of only the best top grain, cowhide leather and the most durable hardware.
$305 shipped to the lower 48, and no more than $18 to ship it anywhere else in the world. Private message me for a sale or use my Etsy shop for convenient checkout: https://www.etsy.com/listing/264283240/hunting-knife-with-stabilized-apple?ref=shop_home_active_6
