I made several of this design last year. This is the last one to be finished up.
Dimensions:
8.5" OAL
4.25" handle length
3.75" edge length
Steel is stainless AEBL
This one has a distal taper with a thin tip, with .005 behind the edge.
The bevels are ground on a 36" radius platen.
The blade is hardened by Peters to rc 60-61 with the cryogenic temper.
This grind is akin to the knife of mine in BladeForum member Ankerson's thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...based-on-Edge-Retention-cutting-5-8-quot-rope
The handle is Australian "Dead Finish" from the Timber Joint. It has beautiful red-orange hues with some black lines. Pins and Lanyard tube are stainless. Epoxy is west systems G-flex. Handle has a slight palm swell.
I am asking 170$ for this or 200$ including a sheath.
Ill drop it to 147$ or 177$ with sheath , thats shipped CONUs.
If you dont fall completely in love with the knife within a week of receiving it, you may send it back for a full refund.
