This one is SOLD, pending funds, thanks for looking and your comments

I wanted to make a knife small enough to carry easy and not get in the way. At the same time I wanted it tough enough to split the chest cavity on deer size game. What I came up with is the knife below. I left the grind thick enough on the back third of the blade to cut through briskets while the tip is thinned for delicate skinning work. This knife was made to be used hard, not a cabinet queen. Here are the specs:

Steel- 1095 X 3/16
HT- In house with three 2 hour temper cycles
AOL- 8 1/2 inches
Blade- 3 7/8 inches to front of guard with drawn swedges
Grind- Flat
Handle- 4 5/8 inches to front of guard
Scales- Desert Ironwood
Hardware- Brass guard, 1/8 brass pins, 1/4 brass lanyard tube
RH leather sheath was handsewn by this maker and is included. It will hold this knife securely for a worry free carry
Asking 150.00 shipped in the USA and Canada
Paypal or USPS M/O preferred
Questions, comments, or critiques welcome
Thanks for looking

No, I like the brass. Great contrast to the Desert Ironwood.
Generous handle.

This one is very tempting. Beautiful wood.

Great job Joe. I think you got it just right.

But yeah, where is your makers mark?

Great looking piece..

Your sheaths are spectacular along with the knife.. Too bad I gave the one I bought from you away to the nice farmer that lets me hunt his land..

I like the brass too. A maker friend has started using high grade aluminum for weight and contrast-just a thought.
A very nice knife!

I hear you guys, guess I'm just a little old fashion when it comes to brass. I like it, especially with Ironwood. I have nothing against stainless though, point taken, and I appreciate you letting me know. Makers mark is on the blade, I just took the pics before I did it. When I break out the stencils I like to have two or three to do. It's located on the upper left blade flat in my usual place.
Ron I have another to make a sheath for, it's bigger than this knife, I think you'll like the handle on that one.
Doc, aluminum is something I have not considered, but definitely worth checking into, thanks for the tip.
Harleyguy2 I hope it locks you in on that property for a long time. thanks for posting.
