I haven't brought out a new knife in a while, but after a lot of work, here it is: The newest Hunter's Thorn which I'm calling the HT Evolution.
This knife incorporates all the feedback and ideas I've had on this model over the years and I think it takes the design as far I can go with it. If I could make this knife any better, I would have done so!
Specs:
5mm thick D2 (1.2379) carbon Tool Steel at HRC 61
Overall: 205mm Blade: 90mm (75mm sharp) Max Blade height: 35mm
Width across Grips: 18mm Lanyard Hole:7mm
Blades are machine flat ground to 0.4mm before sharpening and these are really cleanly ground too.
Finish is stone washed matt grey
Grips are Dark Olive Green Linen Micarta
I did a complete contour machining of the blades before grinding and all edges that aren't suppossed to be sharp are hand chamfered. The serrations on the spine are machined with a 4mm end mill, not just rough lasered.
This is a beefy knife with excellent cutting ability thanks to the high, flat grind.
Only downside, keep the blades lightly oiled - particularly around salt water - as D2 is not a stainless.
I'm offering these knives without sheaths so buyers can have the exact sheath made to suit their needs.
I do hope to offer high quality highride leather belt sheaths before year's end and snce the knives are precision made, it will also be possible to order a sheath from me later without having to send in the knife for fitting.
Price per HT Evolution:
142 (Euro) for sales outside the European Union (places like the USA & Canada)
169 (Euro) for EU sales which includes 19% German VAT
Shipping to the USA or Canada is 20 airmail postage insured
EU shiping, please ask via email
Payment via Paypal, no fee for the buyer
Orders and Questions per Email please: kevin@wilkins.de
