Hunting knife sharpener - Buck knives

My thought is that a cheaper, softish stone might be out of flat enough to be messing you up a bit. I like ceramics, I've not used the falkniven combo stones but they review well, and might be a good solution for you.

A sharpie will tell you if your angle control is good or not.
