Whats inside your Hunting pack ? Is it different gear than inside the pack you take hiking ? I took my Maxpedition 10x4 bottle holder kit with me for my last hunt (Archery/Deer) I will NEVER do that again....Great kit for a short hike or to take fishing but Very uncomfortable to try to stalk hunt with ! Gotta change packs now :D Lets see your pack & what you got !

i use a maxpedition jumbo. i have water, .380 LCP or Glock 9mm, toilet paper, range finder, extra knife, headlamp and extra flashlight, neon orange flagging tape, compass, wind powder, 2 trash bags and some large ziplock bags (in case it rains), fire kit and whistle.. oh i also take a digital camera / camcorder with me. those are the things in my bag. i carry calls and etc on me. on the shoulder strap of that jumbo i have an Izula hanging upside down for very easy access. just reach for your chest and pull her out..

now this is a bag i do not use on actual stalks.. i rarely stalk deer with a bow unless its raining. i take this bag gun hunting and stalking. ill leave it on the ground if i have to crawl.

on longer trips i will probably end up using my maxped. falcon 2.. the only thing i dont like about maxped and hunting is that the material is loud. rub something on it and you will see what i am talking about.. ill take pics when i get the chance.

basic survival stuff, water, knives.

I use a small trash can that fits inside the pack for me to put game in.

I take the same loadout as a regular backpacking trip, except:

I always use a Trangia alcohol stove.
Compact binoculars.
Xtra cartridges.
Quail call.
Also, a cleaning rod and oil.
Cold Steel Master Hunter.
Or a Mora for fishing trips.
Cammies.

oh yeah forgot about that.. its in there as well. i use a lot of new skin. burns like hell but it works like a charm.. if i get cheap i use super glue, just about the same thing

What's in my pack?

A good AMK first aid kit. A Gransfors Bruks wildlife hatchet. Some paracord and some jute twine. A Lite My Fire Scout and some tinder quik. A pair of latex gloves. A Leatherman Blast. My altoids tin kit with a Vic Farmer and mini back-ups for compass, Microlite Photon II, mini whistle, about 6ft of Gorilla tape, ...etc.. A small titanium cup with a folding wire handle. About 50 feet of rope I could use for climbing if I had to. Extra cartridges. A full size compass. SS Nalgene Guyot bottle. An empty GatorAde bottle to pee in. A SF 9P with a blue lens for spotting blood. Maybe a cheap folding saw. A thin plastic drop cloth. That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure I missed a couple of items. My binocs are around my neck (Zeiss conquest 8x30's). My knife is a stripped muddy Busse AD in a leather sheath. In the bottom of my pack are a couple of plastic scent wafers that make all of my stuff smell like dirt.

The pack itself is an Underarmour backpack in one of the Real Tree patterns.

The pack I'm gonna use for now is my Gerber Evader in Coyote brown, I took the water bladder out( I hate the taste of water in that thing :thumbdn: I usually take a SS water bottle full of Ice water + an extra 20z bottle of water. & a few snacks (beef jerky, trailmix, Beenie weenie's, granola bar...etc) I also have
1. 25' blk 550 paracord
2. 1/4" x 50' nylon rope
3. small roll of tape
4. camo gloves & face mask
5. compact Bino's
6. Izula(back-up/field dress knife)
7. Primos "The Can" call
8. Flo. Orange marking ribbon
9. Fire kit (bic lighter, matches, jute twine, cottonballs)
10. Primos field dress glove kit
11. 15mi range Cobra walkie Talkie's
12. Whistle & Space Blanket

toilet paper! :D

The FAK is a small part of my regular "survival kit." It consists of half a role of 3M Micropore surgical tape, half a tube of Neosporin, a few packets of NSAIDS, a few packets of Emergen-C.

i hunt on my grandpa's land and there has been times where i cant make it in time. carrying too much gear and slow bc you are about to crap your pants.. yeah take TP and make sure you put it in plastic in case it rains. some days life just gets sh**ty.. :D

Wal Mart frequently sells it.

Go to the tape section near the pharmacy. Look at the inner core of each roll of tape they have. If it is the right one, it'll have 3M Micropore Tape printed in the inside of the core in blue ink.

Hold out for this one, it is the best tape I've ever taped myself back together with. WAY better than duct tape. I don't even trifle with bandaids any more, I only use this stuff and Neosporin.

Works great for blisters trying to form on your feet, too.

CHEERS

I also added empty ziploc bags for stashing cellphone in incase of rain :)
