Hunting Packs

I also added empty ziploc bags for stashing cellphone in incase of rain :)

i keep my stuff in plastic bags. obviously for rain and it helps me keep organized. i love hunting in the rain with my bow. just make sure you wax the strings really well before you go out. when you get back dry it off and wax them again. best time to stalk with a bow is in the rain. it muffles your footsteps.

Going back out in morning and hope the does I see walk same path and I can connect!

Taking snack, water, and piss bottle along with release, rangefinder, knives, frozen 2 liter bottles of water, cooler, wind direction powder, and adding tp :)

Need latex gloves but not must for me so I'll deal with it if I get a shot off :)

my hunting pack, an old (20 year) Dana Design lumbar pack

with contents- small pad, AMK Thermo bivy, 25' paracord (incorporated into pack), platy water bottle, headlamp, tripod for camera (sometimes I actually get something :)), water purification tabs, mini bic w/ wetfire tinders, tp, gutting gloves, fak/repair kit, compass, extra rounds, Havalon Piranta knife

the F1 knife is setup as a kit (more firestarting, whistle, signal mirror, photon light, etc) and goes on my belt, the matchsafe/compass is in my pocket, light gloves and hat go in my cargo pockets, as well as my camera

binos around my neck

the lumbar pack has a shove it pocket that normally stows a jacket (unless I'm wearing it)

Wal Mart frequently sells it.

Go to the tape section near the pharmacy. Look at the inner core of each roll of tape they have. If it is the right one, it'll have 3M Micropore Tape printed in the inside of the core in blue ink.

Hold out for this one, it is the best tape I've ever taped myself back together with. WAY better than duct tape. I don't even trifle with bandaids any more, I only use this stuff and Neosporin.

Works great for blisters trying to form on your feet, too.

CHEERS
I'm going tomorrow, thanks!!!! :D

Whats in my bag? Too much junk and probably not enough stuff.

I have something similar to Cabela's All-day Transporter Fanny pack but mine came with another backpack that also has a camel-back system in it. everything is linked together although it looks like you should be able to drop one or the other as needed. My bags are in the Open Country motif.

Let me think about the contents, admittedly hurridely put together, and sometimes on more of a just in case instead of absolute essentials.

around 25' of 3/8" or 1/2" nylon rope
50' of nylon 1/8" rope/cordage (need to swap that out for some paracord)
Leather gloves
warmer hunting gloves
knit cap
sweatshirt
tp - roll!
all the junk my dad gave us to hunt with: 2 squares of baker's chocolate, chapstick, bandaids, 8 squares of TP, water-proof match box with matches, water-proof match box with Rolaids, p-38 can opener, ???
Fiddleback Ladyfinger in a JRE sheath on the "belt" of the pack
Gerber E-Z open knife and E-Z open saw
3 2-gallon zip-locks
a couple garbage bags
6'x8' tarp
field dressing glove pack someone gave me
several pairs of latex type gloves - more likely for me to wear
GL Drew game axe
extra magazines for the rifle
Garmin etrex H gps
couple lengths of string
several pieces of orange surveyor's tape
couple small hand towels - surgical style, not fluffy
small diamond hone
magnesium fire starter block
couple space blankets
compass
Browning model 815 hunting knife

Need to add: permanent match and/or peanut lighter

I'm sure I forgot stuff but I really tried not to put the kitchen sink in there this time. The day we got out and hiked it worked very well. The suspender system really spread out the load. Not too much to carry and didn't get fatigued. Would have been very easy to slip off if needed and like the fact that I can attach a sweatshirt or coat either above or below the fanny pack to have if I need it. Still would have had room for a flannel shirt too.

Should also probably mention the .357 and my Buck Nighthawk went on a seperate belt. Everything worked well together. Was worried about the pack interfering with the gunbelt and vise-versa but no problems. Next time, since the camel back is so easy to use, I may take out the water bottle (or leave it in the truck) and put my plain leather gloves in that pouch so they're more accessible on the move.
