Very nice caseynz. Did you kill him with your hands? Whack him over the head with a stick?

ha ha , yeah 2tonyb I lept out of my tree onto him and wrestled him down ( after my 6.5-06 had put a hole through both shoulders that is.)

hi kris, it was a local wairarapa station we have access to.i just finished a big feed of backsteak from him, black pudding and eggs this morning. yum!

I just finished a great trip.
10 days in the bush . We had pretty good weather for 6 days which is good for this area which has a huge rainfall each year .a while ago it got 40 inches of rain in 24 hours  I managed to get a decent red stag ,and we saw over 50 wapiti /red deer crosses which is the main attraction for this area.
ill let the photos do the talking.

trevitrace , its a kea.much the same but not so rare, and very friendly. they can be pests though, they will rip your tent to shreds while your away walking.

Nope. Upper midwest US.

I have seen plenty of Sir Attenborough's adventures and I like to familiarize myself with as many plants/fungi/animals as my flimsy brain will allow. :D

I'd absolutely love to visit though...don't think I can deal with a flight that long unfortunately.

....but Trev, you haven't seen Kris's fish pics. Might be worth the flight. I know if I had the money I'd go!!

trevitrace, you could spend a couple of nights in japan on the way down here to break up the trip ;)

And if Mewolf goes with him they can cut costs! Problem solved:thumbup:

They just got to figure out which one sells a kidney to fund it all.

Are the Cook Islands a stopover between the States and NZ? If nothing else, I've got it on good information that I'd very likely enjoy a remote locale to Japan; brief as as it may be.

Additionally, and unfortunately, I've already given one kidney to my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate and I'll likely need the other.

Maybe an old-fashioned rochambeau can resolve who pays?

:D
