I am still out in Junction, Texas (you can look it up) doing some hunting. Haven't taken anything so far but seeing a lot of deer. I can be particular and wait on the one I want, or till the end of the season to collect meat for the freezer.
But, the highlight so far is our oldest daughter. She wanted me to sit in the stand with her one afternoon to take pics of a 10 point she was watching.
So me and the 300mm Nikon were waiting.
When, about 80 yards down in a creek bottom, the big one stepped out. No time for pics then. Was on her side of the box stand and she eased the thutty ought six out the window, took her breaths, relaxed, shook some, more deep breaths, and squeezed off a perfect neck shot.
Now that was something special, to be in the stand when a child takes a monster like that one.
What a beauty.

and the deer is also

Her hubby came and field dressed it with his freshly sharpened 110 420hc
Funny part there, she used this fancy phone picture thing and just sent him a pic of it... He got the message.
Then when we got around to the cleaning tree, and got the skin off (which we use the truck for) (thats another story) he immediately grabbed up one of the 121's I had laid out and finished quartering it up and into the ice chest.
But, somehow he managed to slice into a finger. We think it was him not being used to the extra length of the 121 over the 110.
And the rack was a 21 inch spread as measured by the local feed store contest judge, and has 15 points, some of which can't be seen in this pic.
That right there, has made this a successful hunting season, even if I don't get one...lol....
So,,,,anyone else having hunting fun?
An afterthought, this is a pretty good rack for this area of the Texas Hill Country. I know it doesn't measure up to other parts of the USA, but is considered a good rack for these parts.
