JB, I hunt in Zone B-2 between Weaverville and Trinity Center. I also hunt A-zone near Stonyford. I'll be eating that one this year, though.
I used to hunt D-3 up near Buck's Lake for rifle season, but would see tons of does and no legal bucks. Now that I shoot archery, I might go up there next year for the Archery opener. I was up in X7B this summer (Stampede Reservoir) and did some scouting while I was there. It was early August, blazing hot, and I didn't even see a squirrel. Usually, I see nice bucks there during the summer. Getting drawn is a whole nother challenge. My Trinity hunting buddies got drawn for X3B last year and all shot nice mulies. Freezing rain on opening day - go figure. I'm in hog hunting mode now going into waterfowl season. Man, I love this time of year!
