George when you say "our" Moose Hunter, who actually grinds blades from stock and makes/finishes the knife ?

At the bottom of his posts is: "George/Carol" so I'm sure he just means him and his wife. He works on the knives, she runs the rest of the shop.

gak you likely are right. however after buying thousands of knives i have learned to ask rather than make assumptions.

Hey Guys...rest assured George grinds all his own knives! This is a Custom without a doubt....handmade to the last! Please don't make assumptions and ruin a for sale thread....PM is best.

I have over half a dozen of George's knives, check out his forum here. His mirror polish is one of the best I have ever seen.

The Moose Hunter is a great model.

Oh...and when he says we, he is referring to his Wife Carol who helps with the business end of things.

Have a Great Day!

unsolicited endorsement here.
I have 2 of Georges moose hunters. This model ranks as 1 of the best outdoor users for large game hunting I have owned. Design, fit and finish are top drawer and very hard to beat at this price point. Run dont walk for one!

Roland, when the word "OUR" is used it is just that - "Our" - George's and mine - Carol - George's wife.

George makes his knives from scratch - using the stock removal method.
I thought that was self explanatory but perhaps my phrasing was confusing, for that I apologize.

George Tichbourne Knives for anyone who is not familiar with us is just that - George's knives that he makes himself. I may do a little fine sanding on occasion on the handles, or rough cut some micarta handle material but the knife is without question all George's.

My contribution to George Tichbourne Knives is customer relations, ordering material, looking after our store, web site, shipping - the non-knife stuff that George just doesn't have the time for because he's too busy making and designing HIS knives.

Hope that answers your question :):) If you are ever in the area please feel free to drop in and pay us a visit. George would be happy to give you a shop tour.

Carol :)

Thanks Carol. There are a few other well recognized makers, like Mike Snody, Rick Hinderer, and others who have taken on some help in making their knives and now use the term "our" in place of "my", so i thought it best to ask.

As i read the O.P. it sounds like you have more than 1 Moose Hunter ready to go for $135. If this is correct, i would like to buy one too.
please PM or email me to confirm, along with PP info and charge for mailing to B.C.
hope ya got more than 1 !
roland

Yes, we did have more than one, they are moving quickly :)
However not to fear - I believe we have a couple more blanks on the shelf that just have to be handled, as I told someone else, I will check in the morning and if that is Not the case, it won't take very long for George to grind up more. If you can wait a few weeks ??

I will PM you with the info you requested.

Regarding some other makers - you are well within your right to ask questions, in the Tichbourne case "our" refers to just George & I and George certainly has sole authourship. When you're making a custom purchase I would expect that that is what you are looking for and no offense was taken. Sometimes I tend to forget that not everyone has met us and understands how we work as a team :):)

Look for my PM, Carol :)

Nice scores guys! If you like the Moose Hunter you HAVE to check out the Mouse...by far my favourite Tichbourne!

Now , have you had Lucas out hunting with that yet ?? :):) Rumour has it that mice are in season all year long LOL

Just to clarify something - this particular weekly special is an "OPEN"
sale. i.e. This is NOT a "One Of" model and you can order a Moose Hunter at the price of $135 until the end of the day Sunday, Aug 22/10. The knives we had made up are sold, we are going into our blade ready stock that just has to be handled and sheaths made.

Tichbourne Knives will be running two kinds of weekly specials - both of which I will clearly indicate if the knife is a ONE OF or an Open Sale.

One of obviously there is only the one knife i.e. the Urban Tactical Prototype we ran a couple weeks ago.

An OPEN sale - the Moose Hunter we are running now that is available for as many as wish to order it within the given time frame of the sale.

I'm not trying to bump the thread just clarify a question that was sent by PM.
in case others had the same inquiry.

Thankyou, Carol
