Thanks Mike. I've have been through several different guns over the years. I still have my TC Scout rifle and pistol. I shot a buck grunting after a doe in the mid 90's with the pistol.

Scott I use to have a S & W model 29 with an 8 3/8 inch barrel 44 mag. I shot a 4 point at 73 yards with it.I had open sights. Wish I had never sold it. I now have two Ruger Super Blackhawks in 44 mag with 5 1/2 in barrels. Going to buy a Super Redhawk in 454 soon and get back into handgun hunting. Next best thing to bow hunting.I am with you in using a muzzle loader over a shotgun.I have a T/C blackdiamond 50 caliber with a simmons scope.

Mike, I'd love to hunt with a handgun but our game laws prohibit hunting with a centerfire handgun in a shotgun county. Only allowed in counties where breechloading rifles are allowed. I can use a muzzleloading handgun, that's why I got the barrel for the TC Encore.
With varmint (groundhogs) season coming up, I'm going to get my Encore 243 cal. pistol sighted back in. One of the rings cracked and I had to replace them. Longest shot on a groundhog so far is 390 yds. Longest made with my 22-250 rifle is 450 yds. I swear by my Harris bi-pod.

Scott I have been wanting a Harris bi-pod. Them are some awesome shots you made on ground hogs! My best shot ever was on a caribou at 419 yards kneeling. I was using my Weatherby accumark in 300 Winchester mag with 180 grain Nosler partician bullets. I have shot 7 caribou with this combo and not one ever took another step.
