Ok, on the survival forum is a thread regarding huntnig and how aweful it is to hunt. Anyway, I thought I would start are own hunting thread..

So my question is when you hunt what kind of weapons do you take..

I'll start.
First, is my scotch, I go nowhere without it.
second is my cigars
third is my rifle - Browning BAR 300 win mag
fourth is my truck Dodge Ram Limited Slip 4wd
Then assorted knives and other tools. Handgun of course.

If I can, Ill carry a couple of Flash Bang Grenades to stun the animals and if we find no animals then we can just throw them in the woods for fun or in the water and watch fish float to the surface.

Lately though my eysight has been not so good, so I am thinking of getting a minigun and take along two belts. That should be enough to get whatever is hiding in the forest, don't you think:thumbup:

I was thinking of borrowing Skunks Barret to kill some pesky foxes. I figure one or two kills and most of the animals in my city should leave town.

I like to hunt with dynamite, then you don't have to dress anything.
Just pick up the chunks you want..........

A good ol' boy was fishing with dynamite, and someone reported him to the conservation officer.
The officer approached him as he was getting in his boat, and told him of the charges made against him. The good ol' boy said he was not doing anything wrong, and that the officer could come with him to watch.
After they got out in the middle of the lake, the good ol' boy opened his tackle box and took out a stick of dynamite.
The officer shouted "that's illegal!" and started to go on and on about fishing laws and such, and the fines and punishments involved.
the good ol' boy lit the fuse, handed the dynamite to the officer and said....

you wanna talk, or you wanna fish?

Dynamite's for crude fishermen who just like loud noises. I prefer to fish the way God intended... with an old-timey crank telephone.

I thought this was a hunting thread...

First, Cobalt needs an RPG or three.

Second, I take along one of the following, depending on hunt: Quail or Rabbit (Browning over/under), Dove (Remington 1100), Turkey (Remington 870), Deer (Marlin 336 in .30-30 or Remington 700 in .308 or Winchester 70 in .30-06).

In Texas, dynamite is for fireants. We train our deer to show up at a feeder and then blast 'em from our heated blinds in between sips of tequila and Lone Star. And then pay our illegal aliens to clean and cook the sucker. For humility, we hunt hogs with bow n arrow.

Birds = Winchester Model 12 (12, 16, or 20 GA depending)
Varmits = Custom Mark X in .264 Win Mag or Ruger 77 in .220 Swift
Deer/Bear/Moose = Remington 700 Classic in .350 Rem mag.

Knife = SHBA

The sure fire way to take twice as much game is to have a few beers and a couple of shooters before starting out. That way, every deer magically turns into two, you have two tags instead of one, and twice the meat! All you gotta do is close one eye while you shoot - kind of like driving! :D

PS - I like the minigun idea. The more rounds you can put in the air, the more chance of hitting something! It only stands to reason... If you have a buddy with an atv, or better yet, a plane, they could chase the game towards you!

To answer the question, either a Marlin 45-70, sometimes a Casull. For knives, usually a BA3, Active Duty, or Dozier K2.

This is what I call a huntin thread. I just carry my GW cause I hunt the 2 legged kind. Fresh shave on the ol noggin, semi clean clothes, lil moufwarsh, and lots of beer money. (sometimes you gotta get em real drunk)Take the hog down to the preppie biker bar and have some fun.
Like to send the DOGS after da animules kuz its more fun thata way. Less spilt beer in the truck an all ya know.

I like the flamethrower myself. Hunt 'em, catch 'em, cook 'em... all at the same time. It is the swiss army knife of hunting weapons. ;)

When I "hunt" I just take a condom, I don't want any accidents:eek:  ; nor to catch anything I wasn't looking to catch.:thumbdn:

Tony G, don't let Cobalt give you any lip. He hunts with a condom too, but he's still going after wild boars.  :D

(taking cover now)

Cobalt ,what kind of accuracy do you get with your .300 BAR?
If they are accurate enough I thought they would make a great choice for a countersniper rifle especially because it does not look as scary as most semiauto's.

No wonder my kid and I only get one or two deer every year. You game hogs are takin' 'em all with your wonder tools. I like the flamethrower idea. LOL!!!!

When I go in the woods for deer it's my trusty Ruger M77 30-06 with Federal Premium 180 grain Trophy Bonded. For upland birds the old standby Remington 870 Wingmaster. I have been known to carry an old single
shot .410 for grouse too. Shot a lot of birds with that little honey. In fact it was my first gun! I always carry my Buck 110 folder with me, and have used a variety of hunting knives over the years. This year I'll have my SR Bog Dog in D2 purchased here on the forums for deer hunting. For bird hunting I'll probably take one of my Gamewardens. I always have a multitool with me also.
