For sale is a Huntsman (Hunter Martin) custom machete made from 1/8" thick 52100 steel. The blade is 18" long and features a convex edge with microbevel. Edge holding is fantastic and it sharpens up easily as well. Can be used for everything from light vegetation clearing to wood chopping. I don't think Hunter makes these from 1/8" steel anymore - it's obviously overkill, but if you want a serious chopper this is it.

The kydex sheath that was supplied with this left some pretty major scratches on the blade. You can see this in the pics. I replaced the sheath with a custom leather sheath from Heber Ellsworth that is easily the finest machete sheath you'll ever see. The retention strap was cut once when I was too dumb to tuck it back, but it isn't anything serious (maybe 1/4 of the way through, at most) and has been glued to prevent further wear. I haven't had any issues with it yet and I fixed this over a year ago.

While this is a user, the edge is in perfect shape and all the wear is related to scratches from use and from the kydex. The price for the machete and sheath is $225 shipped in the US, paypal included. This is a steal, the sheath itself was about $100 and the machete probably $250 or so.

The blade was also stone-washed and acid-etched, so there is a lot of texture going on...

Handles are black and brown canvas micarta affixed with epoxy and hollow tubes.

I am a sucker for a well made machete and 52100 as well. I will take this, PM me your payment details please.
