Hello everyone,

This hurricane is not messing around, My little sister and her husband are in North Carolina and they lost power at 9pm last night at 7:10 this morning they has 92mph winds and rain.......they have never seen it this bad.

Get a plan and get out. I am not kidding. IT WILL BE BAD.

Much Love, and BE SAFE

Amy

Agreed. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone on the east coast right now. If you know you will be in danger, it is highly advised to grab the necessities and head for safety before it is too late!

Hunkered down in D-town... Hard rains, wind's picking up, Tornado warnings creeping closer...just now hearing T warnings for Philly, Montgomery, Delaware, & eastern Chester counties. I'm next for issued warnings in western Chester Co. :( However, I'm not near what will be the worst of what's coming. Still have power, but expect to lose it any minute now. Praying I won't take a tree to the house.

Stay safe, all who are in this tonight, tomorrow, and the next!
See y'all on the other side.

Pack up the kids, some food, water, and the Infi, and make for higher ground inland!

Praying for you all, stay safe.

smoke and prayers to all (and their loved ones) in the path of the storm.

It's closing on my place in the mountains of New Hampshire now, so I've been battening down the hatches for hours. Hope I'm ready!

To everyone like me in the NE: stay indoors if your home is not in danger of flooding or surrounded by trees that might be easily up-rooted. Definitely be prepared for the loss of power, and duct tape your windows shut. If power loss means loss of running water where you live, fill the bathtub up now and keep a pitcher or pot near to transfer the water to the upper part of your toilet so that you can still use/flush it. Also, make sure to stock up on bottled water if this is the case, and non-perishable food.

My parents live in the outer banks of North Carolina some 300 yards from the ocean, and reported everything that was going on yesterday. The worst they saw was the water rising to the top of the dunes of the beach, and power outage. Thank goodness the storm down-graded From a 4 to a 1. I am sure that there is still major flooding down there, and I doubt the power will make it back on for a few days.

I live a few miles from the coast here in Boston, so I expect flooding and power outage. I pray for my friends that stayed on cape cod and anyone else right on the Coast.

Best of luck to you all. Stay safe and be vigilante. If you have a place to stay further inland, I'd certainly do so. As someone else said; grab your family, supplies, food, BOB, INFI/SR-77/SR-101 and get out now.

Thankfully passed over without too much damage (live in Central NJ). I think it downgraded quickly when Irene saw my supply of infi and didn't want to invoke the rath! Bests wishes to all, hope everyone is as lucky as I. During the tornado watch (a few hit the next town over) we were in the basement, lots of shaking of the house, but all held tight.

Thanks for the warning Amy. Thankfully Irene lost her momentum by the time she got up here, pretty much nothing happened here in center city Philly, despite the news trying to drum up an air of panic in the area.

The Jersey shore and parts of Delaware definitely got some bad stuff though, I think the Tornado warnings were the scariest part. My thoughts are the with the families who lost their homes.

Man I don't miss the Hurricane belt!!! Keep the essentials and BOG handy folks, I sure hope this season want be a bad one. Stay safe all...

Not much of a hurricane here in Coastal Massachusetts. Just short bursts of heavy wind and the power is out. It's not even raining here anymore. It was much worse when the tornado hit Springfield. Let's hope this is the worst we see.

Be safe everyone!

Oh and don't post anything that I might want to buy on the exchange because my service is awful.

We seen rain all day I now have a 2' deep pond as a front yard!!! Now the wind is starting to take down trees and get worse as we go.

Good luck to all and stay safe!!!

All the best and stay safe to those living close to the hurricane!
