Husqvarna Axe

i agree, looks like a wetterlings to me.

curious to hear about the price point, and a review if you end up getting one.

They are made by wetterlings for Husqvarna. I got my dad a 3/4 axe from them and it is exelent. Very good quality.

I have one.It is a great axe.It is either Gränsfors Bruks or Wetterlings- both Husquarna and Jonsered axes were made by both companies, depends of the time of the production.

Mate I got both the small one and a limbing sized one. Heads are clearly stamped Wetterling but handles and covers are marked "Husky". I found both my axes took quiet a bit of work to thin the edge down to a working edge.
I have the theory that even though the heads were made by Wetterling they were being produced to a price and that left a bit of finishing out of the budget.
I also wasn't impressed with the grain in the handles, not a straight line in either.
Having said all that The price was excellent, well worth the dodgy handle and the work in thinning the edges down. I ended up with the edges mirror polished ( all by hand, no power tools used. Files, wet&dry, polish and elbow grease. What fun is it if you can't polish them anyway)
And I'm really impressed with their edge holding abilities.
In fact so impressed I sold two of my Fiskers.

Wetterling have not made this the last year. Now it´s Hults Bruk that made them.

Hi Cegga! Glad to see you on WSS! :)

So the Husqvarna axes are Hults Bruks? If I ordered a Husqvarna now it would definitely be from Hults factory not from Wetterlings?

Don't post any pics of your axes - unless you want dozens of people like me begging you to make one for them! ;)

Hi
Can be that there are some old one´s left that are Wetterings that I don´t no but for the last year and maybe more Hults bruk made them. But the one on the pics are Wetterings or maybe more a Gb .Gb has buy Wetterlings ca a year ago If I get the right info.
I am not sure but i think that Husqvarna will not have this modell any more but I not sure about that.
