Husqvarna Sheath Substitute?

I have a Husqvarna Hatchet inbound. I'm looking for a substitute for the sheath that will accomodate belt carry or other pack options. I've seen some custom GB sheaths, but they are more than the hatchet itself. Does anyone know if the sheath for the Gerber Back Axe (the smallest hatchet they have) will work for the Husqvarna? I have neither in my possession, so I'm turning here for advice.

This forum introduced me to the hatchet, and ColinOutdoors reviews on youtube.com really sealed the deal for me. I'm very excited as this will be my first REAL hatchet/axe purchase and I'm really looking forward to getting off of the big knife/chopper/battoning bandwagon.

Here's my first attempt at making a better sheath for mine

Should have used 5 rivets instead of 7 and used higher quality leather but I made a template so it will be nicer next time. This one is lined with beeswax to protect the blade from rust and it fits like a glove, much better than that awful buckle strap sheath that it came with. cheers

Now that you have made one, how much time do you think it will take to make the next one?

I could make another one in roughly 3-5 hours. Probably work on the new one in the next day or two and post pics. Having the template made really makes all the difference in speed. If any members are interested in one please PM me, as I might make a few extra to help pay for my leather making tools :)

Just a FYI on this subject. This is the sheath that came with mine received from Bailey's 3 weeks ago. 300Bucks

The Gerber Back Paxe sheath is far too small to be of any use for my Husqvarna Hatchet.
I have the more bearded one.

The new runs all come with the snap head cover. Knives ship free has a hatchet belt carry device. It works with any hatchet. Take a look, you might be able to make one.

Just trim down the original (huge) sheath it comes with. That's what I did. I also added snaps and a new strap from the scrap I cut off.
