hygiene

I have to stop reading this forum while I'm eating my lunch.

My favorite (non-tp) is striped maple (aka 'mooseleaf' or 'moosewood') -- very large, soft leaves.

A bear and a rabbit were both pooping in the woods. The bear looked over and asked the rabbit: "Do you have a problem with poop sticking to your fur?"
"No, not at all," the rabbit replied.
So the bear picked up the rabbit and wiped his ass with it.

;-)

I always bring more TP than I can use. I had a buddy I was backpacking with get sick and had diarrhea. he used all the surplus tp.....ha ha .. better to have too much tp than not enough I guess.

TP for sure. Here's how I carry it:

I wrap the outside with a layer of tape and then remove the inner cardboard "spindle." Now you can pull the tissue from the center without the whole roll coming apart. It crushes down nicely in a pack. I keep the roll in a ziploc bag -- waterproof and ready for use. What can I say? Some creature comforts are worth the effort.

(sorry, but this thread is useless without pics. )

I have used Spanish Moss but do not recommend it, only as a last resort.

I have a friend that one time got so desperate on a bow hunt that he pulled the pocket of his insulated coveralls inside out and cut it off and used it. When he finished he put his pocket knife and wallet back in his pocket.............and lost them!

I cut the shirttail off my shirt and used it once. Ive used mullein and smooth rocks in a pinch--KV

i hope you know what poison oak and ivy look like:D

I didn't at age 11.... we were in Canada on a month long trip. My uncle said to just go behind some trees, crap and use leaves..... those shiny green leaves looked so much softer than the dried brown leaves!!

Well..... let me tell ya..... I didn't sit down for a month it seemed like. I even had to go to a hospital in (gulp) that nasty city.... dang it.... can't recall the name.... anyways.... I was MISERABLE to say the least.

I know what it looks like now!! LOL

I cut the middle out of a pair of Tighty Whiteys once before I found how much more comforable Boxer\Briefs are. ;)
