military? does it have an nsn? I really don't think they bought an H1 knife, but who knows.
 
Folks, something can be developed and planned for the US military, but not adopted. It was most likely developed to reduce reflected light for military and police use.
 
Has everyone had the same great experience with D2 in terms of corrosion resistance?

my d2 military has never shown signs of rust.

ive cut mostly paper stuffs, but it has also been used to cut fruit and other food items.

re: coated h1 for military purposes, it is possible spyderco made these for that purpose without an nsn. in other words, it was not ordered by anybody in particular, they just saw a need and are trying to fill it.
 
I think it's an Spyderco effort to give the military personnel some good options for edged tools needs. I doubt there's an official request of any kind behind this, not with that big honkin H1 on the blade. So... I agree that it's for looks.
