hypothetical "what's your ultimate fighter?" question...

i think i would like my cold steel black bear classic. if it weren't required that it be easy to carry in jeans and a polo i would be all about a shortened rapier. kill 'em quick that way.

I think I'd prefer something like a Battle Mistress or Armagedon, long enough to give me the reach advantage, but also pointy enough for easy insertion, and hefty enough for a killing chop with the leading edge.
also, the Long Mad Dog or Mission knife might do it.
It's hard to tell, I'd have to handle them first.

A folded steel tanto by John Lundemo of Odin blades (polished and mounted by David of Odd frog forge) or my bowie coming my way from John...his blades I'd put my life to.

It's not commonly available in this version, but I'll stick with this one! :D

Looks like Anso. The knife is (was?) a Camillus CQB or whatever they call it, of course. Very, very sweet. :)

jen anso

i guess im the only one who would go with this so far -

a fairbaine sykes dagger on a set of brass nuckle dusters.

err... I think some of us forgot just a little the concealability parameter ;) the Terzuola design would be a good choice though!

I don't know how tall/big you are, that would help us to know that, so we can give you better ideas on such kind of request, my suggestion would be a Spyderco Perrin (take an original Perrin if you can... :) ), if you have a medium/small stature, or a Blackjack warrior (it's an 8" blade!!) if you have a big stature. In between you have lots of dedicated fighter blades available on the market, among which, the CRKT Hissatsu or the Entrek SRT (EN14) would be good choices (6 to 7 in. length, no guard and light -> easy to carry on long period, not too chunky bulky ->fair concealability ).

The Cam. CQB and similar sized knives feel rather big in hand, but with the right sheath they are very easy to conceal!
The original BladeTech sheath for mine w/TekLok conceals surprisingly well under a shirt or a t-shirt!

for me i gotta go with the busse public defender  carries easily concealed iwb.

for what its worth i've heard tell of some people carrying vietnam tomahawks concealed in shoulder rigs so that might change my mind a bit

For those conditions my first choice would be my Camillus Fisk Southwest Bowie in its IWB sheath. If I could get away with a vest or jacket I would rather carry it in its back sheath, where it's more comfortable and faster to draw. The Southwest is amazingly quick for such a big blade and I much prefer its ergonomic grip to the traditional coffin-handle styles.

If I had to do anything very strenuous, or carry for an extended period, I'd go for a smaller knife that would get in my way a lot less. My first choice there would be the Mobius Clip-Point that I designed and made myself.

It doesn't have nearly the reach of a big blade, but it can block and trap with the best of 'em while you get in close.

Pure Fighter ? Bagwell-styled knife with a sharp clip. I'd like to say the Helles Belle, with an 11inch blade, but because of my stature, I'd need to go for a 8-9inch blade so I can actually carry it. I'd make it myself too, but if I had to purchase one, an Ontario version would suffice, and if available, I'd get one from Greg Covington.

Ultimately, any larger utility knife with the right balance and good heat treatment is good. The sub-custom-cost options like the BK9, Fisk OVB's all sound like good choices. Jason.
